Airbrush Tanning

The perfect sunless tan is now available. The Center for Cosmetic Dermatology offers a safe and healthy way to sustain a year-round tan without the threat of skin cancer or damage from the sun. Our special airbrush atomizes the spray into a cooling vapor that assures an even tan personally applied by a Medical Aesthetician. Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) within the spray causes a chemical reaction with the amino acids on the outermost layer of skin to produce a beautiful tan without any damage to the skin. Your aesthetician can help you choose the tone that is most beautiful for you.

Tanning Do's and Don'ts

Prior to tanning:

Do exfoliate the morning of or the night before your tan.

Do shave and have manicures and pedicures prior to tanning.

Do bring loose fitting dark clothing and sandals to wear after being tanned.

Do wear old bathing suit or undergarments.  Wear a strapless top or go topless to eliminate tan lines.   Consider what you will be wearing.

Do remove makeup prior to tanning.

Don't apply moisturizer, unless your skin is very dry.

Don't wear antiperspirant/deordorant.

Following tanning:

Don't put on tight clothing.

Don't wash hands, shower, swim, or exercise for 8 hours. Expect to see bronzer washing off with first shower.

Don't apply moisturizer.

Don't sit directly on leather or light fabric seats and furniture the day of your tanning session.  Sit on a towel or cloth instead.

Finally, don't forget your sunscreen!  Airbrush sunless tanning does not protect your skin.

Although there have been no known side effects reported with the use of the active ingredient, DHA, we choose to not airbrush tan pregnant women.
